The Jura , wild nature , gastronomy and cultural heritage
It is impossible to explain it in a few lines,
This is why we chose places about 30 minutes away from our lodgings.
Appreciate and respect our beautiful region
Land of lakes and small mountains
The land of lakes and small mountains means being in the heart of nature to enjoy beautiful hikes,
on foot or by bike and in all seasons, including the famous Cascades du hérisson (the most visited natural site in the Jura) or the 4 lakes of Ilay, Narlay le Grand maclu and petit Maclu (be careful, swimming prohibited)
Vouglans, Chalain and Clairvaux lakes offer multiple water activities (paddle, boat, canoe, pedal boat rental, etc.) and their surrounding beaches and restaurants guarantee relaxation.
The Ain River will appeal to fishermen and whitewater sports enthusiasts.
Château-Chalon et Baume les Messieurs
Château-Chalon, a hilltop village in Revermont, classified among the towns of character in Burgundy Franche Comté and as one of the "most beautiful villages in France", is the birthplace of the famous Vin Jaune Jurassien, an essential stopover before reaching the village of Baume les Messieurs, located in the heart of a spectacular valley, caves, waterfalls and the imperial abbey are among the must-see places to visit in the Jura.
On the way back, why not stop off in Lons le Saunier ? For a visit to the Laughing Cow museum or a relaxing break in the thermal baths of the Jura capital.
Poligny, Arbois et environs
Want to know everything about our county ? Come to Poligny , the county house welcomes young and old for fun visits with tastings to boot!
On the way back to Champagnole, an unusual hike with the karst path of the malrochers in Besain and its geological curiosities, lapiaz and chasms. Very close by, the beautiful Moidons cave.
On the way to Besançon, we stop at Arbois .
The birthplace of Louis Pasteur, it is a mecca of Jura gastronomy where cuisine and wines mingle in the art of fine dining. The Vine and Wine Museum , housed at Château Pécauld, helps to showcase this cultural heritage.
Haut-Jura, Grandvaux
In winter, when snow covers the Jura high plateau, many Nordic activities await you.
Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, introduction to biathlon, sledding, dog sledding, igloo building, etc.
When there is no snow, don't worry! The Haut-Jura is a family area rich in activities, hiking, horse riding, donkey rides, climbing, via ferrata cani-rando and even sledding without snow!
For those who are not afraid of miles, a stop not to be missed is the Rousses resort with its downhill ski slopes or its fort and its Comté cheese maturing cellars.
